Black Lives Matter

On May 25, we collectively and unequivocally witnessed the public murder of George Floyd by the Minneapolis Police Department. This horrifying act, like countless others before it, was blatantly rooted in white supremacy, systemic racism, and abuse of power. Today, we continue to watch police across the nation traumatize and terrorize Black communities and people of color who are calling for change.

HELP: MLP’s mission to eliminate health disparities among pregnant women and infants will never be fulfilled without directly addressing and dismantling the racist systems and structures that have permeated American society since its founding. We stand in solidarity with Black communities and call for accountability and action to end police violence. As we continue to advocate for the rights of the clients and communities we serve, we are also taking this time to assess how we can be better advocates, allies, and amplifiers in the fight for racial justice and we urge others to do the same.
